Nutrition Problem Identification
Overview

The purpose of nutrition problem identification is to document specific nutrition-related problems that require nutrition intervention. Based on findings from the nutrition assessment, current problems that compromise maintaining blood PHE and TYR in the desired treatment range and meeting nutritional needs necessary to support normal growth and development, as well as overall health and quality of life, are identified and prioritized.

Common Nutrition Diagnoses

See: TABLE #4, Nutrition Problem Identification for PKU  for common nutrition diagnoses associated with PKU, written in the PES (problem, etiology, signs and symptoms) format developed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process.
