Biography
Keiko Ueda, MPH, RD is a Clinical Dietitian currently working in Honolulu, Hawaii. Since starting her career as a registered dietitian, Keiko worked in American metabolic clinics at; the Floating Hospital for Children-Tufts Medical Center Boston MA, St Louis Children’s Hospital St. Louis, MO and Mott Children’s Hospital-University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI and in Canada at the British Columbia Children's Hospital, Biochemical Diseases Clinic in Vancouver. She completed her Master of Public Health graduate degree in Human Nutrition and her Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) RD training requirements at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. She has been a guest speaker and moderator at professional metabolic nutrition and medical educational meetings sponsored by; GMDI, SIMD, metabolic medical food (formula) companies, national and regional metabolic patient support groups, and undergraduate and graduate nutrition classes at university nutrition programs. She has been a preceptor for dietetic interns enrolled in RD internship training programs. She has authored and reviewed articles for professional metabolic medical and nutrition journals and newsletters as well as patient support group newsletters. She participates in clinical metabolic nutrition research studies. She has organized and volunteered at several metabolic patient-family camps and family picnics. She has been a member of advisory boards of metabolic medical food companies as well as patient support groups. She serves as membership chair for Genetic Metabolic Dietitians International (GMDI) and co-chair of the Organic Acidemia Workgroup SERC-GMDI Nutrition Guideline Development Project.
